About Us
The Forum is a small, high-level body, co-chaired by Peter Sands (Group CEO of Standard Chartered) and Ratan Tata (Chairman Emeritus, Tata Group).
The membership comprises of the co-chairs and ten CEOs or Chairpersons from the UK and ten from India and ensures coverage of the key strategic sectors in the relationship.
The role of the Forum is to:
- Identify and recommend actions to progressively remove impediments to greater trade, investment and commercial links between the two countries
- Explore ways that the Forum can act as a catalyst for greater interest and linkages between the two countries’ commercial sectors from small and medium sized enterprises to multinationals
- Propose innovative areas for collaboration that would benefit both countries economically and commercially and could deepen the bilateral relationship and strengthen the partnership internationally
- Provide strategic advice to the two governments as appropriate
Both countries will benefit from broadening and deepening their collaboration, as they share many complementary strengths and similar challenges for the future. In this context, economic ties between the two countries should be stronger and the Forum hopes to help achieve increased trade and enhanced investment between the UK and India.
